Glam through the past and into the Future
Practical mom still wanting to decorate in style? There are ways to decorate a nursery with pieces from the past and looking to the future.
- (the OBVIOUS) The convertible crib/toddler bed... and even the $99 one from ikea can look modern chic with a little staining or painting.
- (what's the point) How often did you REALLY use your rocking chair/glider? And what do you do with when you're no longer nursing or coddling or baby? Why not buy a chaise re-use and/or re-upholster an old one? That way when you no longer need it in the nursery, it'll still look stylish in your living room... unless you like the look of a glider in the living room =)
- (change it up) A change table is good for 2-3 years, hopefully, and then what? Try using an old desk as a change table. It has space for a garbage/diaper genie, and drawers for diapers, wipes, towels, blankies, etc... Nothing like a vintage mid-century desk to mod up a nursery
A nursery doesn't always have to be pastel, have baby animal borders, and little flowers or truck light fixtures. You can make it mod/glam/chic/fun and use old and new pieces to make it a relaxing area for you to nurse the newborn.

Who said the 'boys' section was just for boys???
Rule of Thumb when dressing your princess: She doesn't need to wear all PINK!!!
I've been called the kid fashion nazi to some, but I like to think of myself as the Baby Stylist; I like to think outside the box. There are plenty of ways to get your little Diva dressing the trend without burning a hole in your wallet. On you're next shopping trip take a stroll on the boys side, pick up a long-sleeve button up and VOILA... the boyfriend shirt. Add a pair of tights and ankle boots and you've got yourself a little fashionista. Yes kids are kids and you want to keep them young, but that doesn't mean you need pink all around. Take risks, try trends and, if pink is a MUST, add a hair-clip!
